Q & A with Odos 👇
Could you introduce yourself by sharing your name, prior experience, and current role within your company? Additionally, please briefly explain your company’s mission and what it offers to its customers.
My name is Dana Valletta and I’m the Developer Relations Lead at Odos. I’ve held a variety of technology roles over the past ~20 years, and I’ve been working exclusively in the web3 space for the past ~3 years.
Odos is a state-of-the-art Smart Order Routing (SOR) and DeFi Abstraction solution powered by a proprietary algorithm designed to optimize token swaps. Unlike traditional platforms that rely on limited linear pathfinding, our algorithm leverages a vast network of liquidity sources— spanning decentralized exchanges (DEXs), on-chain order books, and private liquidity through RFQ systems— to explore non-linear routing options. By combining multiple intermediary tokens, we secure the most favorable exchange rates, delivering unmatched efficiency and value. This unique approach enables Odos to outperform competitors, particularly for long-tail assets and large transactions, with superior pricing and greater liquidity depth.
In addition to best-in-class swap execution, Odos features a powerful pricing engine, integrated with over 900 liquidity sources across 13 blockchains. This engine delivers real-time, block-by-block token pricing for more than 55,000 tokens, providing users with precise, actionable insights. We’re proud to offer our Token Pricing API through the QuickNode Marketplace, empowering users with the most accurate market data available.
How has your company grown and changed since its inception, and what do you have planned for its future?
We currently support 13 chains and we’re constantly expanding to other chains. We have recently released Limit Orders, which are the first to allow multiple inputs and/or multiple outputs to be included in the same transaction. Limit Orders have been very well received by our community. We are releasing Simple Swap later this month which will allow our users to utilize Odos’ smart order routing without slippage or paying any gas for the transaction, aside from initially approving the contract.
What inspired you to develop Odos, and how did you conceive?
The inspiration for developing Odos was originally just interest in the AMM routing problem itself. The surface-level simplicity of many AMMs paired with the huge complexity of optimally routing through them made for a very interesting problem, and eventually through just exploring that problem, we arrived at an MVP of a routing algo that seemed to have unique abilities that existing options did not have. From there we started to build it out as an actual product, which eventually became Odos.
Can you provide insight into Odos’s progress by sharing any metrics or milestones indicating its traction?
Odos has experienced significant growth, now optimizing over $5 billion in transaction volume per month across 13 blockchains. To date, the platform has optimized $44.1 billion in cumulative volume, facilitated over 25.4 million transactions, and integrated with more than 900 protocols. Over 2.5 million unique wallets have utilized the platform.
